Feed the Future is the U.S. Government’s global hunger & food security initiative. The USAID Bureau for Food Security wants to integrate digital tools and technologies into Feed the Future activities implemented by USAID Missions as part of its Digital for Resilience and Food Security initiative.

The Bureau for Food Security is focused on supporting USAID Missions around three categories of digital tools:

Digital Frontiers is a 5-year, $75 million USAID project funded by the Bureau for Food Security and implemented by DAI to offer support and services to USAID Missions, including providing technical assistance to USAID programs, capacity building for Feed the Future teams, and strengthening best practices in digital agriculture and food security.

Apply Now for USAID ICTforAg Contracts

Digital Frontiers will be issuing contracts from $30,000 to over $300,000, to support the Bureau for Food Security and USAID Missions. Please respond to the Request for Proposals (RFP) if your organization wants to win one of these contracts and has:

Digital Frontiers will review all proposals, and make an award based on the technical and cost evaluation criteria, and select the offeror whose proposal provides the best value. Evaluation points will not be awarded for cost. Cost will primarily be evaluated for realism and reasonableness.

Potential Digital Agriculture Solutions

Applicants initial Time and Materials offer must contain their best price and technical terms to complete at least one of the following tasks:

  • Conduct assessments of and provide technical advisory services to agriculture programs at USAID Missions and advise those missions on what digital tools and approaches may help their programs achieve greater results and impact
  • Conduct DFS assessments of agriculture programs at USAID missions and develop recommendations for Mission actions
  • Design and implement digital agriculture programs
  • Conduct research on digital agriculture approaches, programs, and impact

Applicants should expect that Digital Frontiers will ask for deliverables like these in their Time and Material contracts:

  • Digital assessments of and recommendations for agriculture programs
  • Program scopes of work
  • Farmer profiles, digital tool use cases and other county and/or sector-specific research and strategy
  • Research papers and reports
  • Digital agriculture events/workshops
  • Case Studies
  • One-pagers, PowerPoint presentations, talking points, videos, blogs, social media plans

    I would like to obtain a loan to start up a business in Malawi and Zambia and Tanzania to construct homes for farmers and build schools. I studied in Australia and have returned to utilise my knowledge and expertise in the construction industry.
    I have built a machine to manufacture wall panels. These are basic homes or structures for any purposes. I look forward to your response.

  14. I sincerely appreciate USAID for their different developmental stride towards empowering the people directly, its a welcome development. No going back to the era when grants were domesticated at the Agencies of governments which usually end up in the civil servants and politicians pockets. I will recommend strict monitoring and evaluation to ensure contractors, NGOs and institutions (grant beneficiaries) do not divert grant for other use. God bless United State
