Destruction, disaster, and drones. ICTs have been helping communities recover from natural disasters for many years, but how effective are they?  What can we do to be more prepared for the future? And how can we better help those in dire need?

Join the ICTworks Twitter community TODAY from 9am to 10:30am PST (12 Noon – 1:30pm EDT) for our interactive twitter chat using the hashtag #ICTchat. We will be exploring the many different ways in which ICTs can be used to help disaster relief efforts, for better or worse. Joined by Glen Burnett, the Director of US Operations for Practical Action, Lauren Bateman, the Monitoring and Evaluation Advisor for the American Red Cross, and Olly Parsons, the Disaster Response Coordinator for GSMA Disaster Response, we will examine how ICTs can be used effectively as both early warning systems and disaster relief management.

Join us by following the hashtag #ICTchat. See you then!
