Please RSVP Now: Mobiles for Development Forum Asia 2015

By Wayan Vota on December 1, 2014

More than 4 in 10 people in Asia own a mobile phone. If you are not already using mobiles in your programming as a development practitioner, you are missing substantial opportunity to reach people.

The reality of using mobiles in development is more complicated than simply sending out messages via mobile phone or creating a mobile app. As practitioners, we need to also consider issues such as what ethical obligations we have in handling people’s data, how we deal with disparities of access, how we effectively measure impact and how we leverage mobiles to serve multiple needs.

Please RSVP now to tackle these questions and others at the second annual Mobiles for Development Forum Asia 2015, hosted by USAID and FHI 360 in Bangkok on January 20 and 21, 2015. We will catalyze conversations and actions during our two-day event, aimed at creating a more holistic, cross-cutting and inclusive approach to mobiles for development, resulting in lasting and genuinely impactful interventions.

This is a fantastic opportunity to let your voice be heard in defining the future of mobiles in development programs in Asia!

Please RSVP now as space at the forum is limited to 100 participants from mobile technology firms, development organizations, donor and other stakeholder organizations that are developing or using mobiles for development.

Have something you want to share at M4D Asia 2015? Please email Josh Woodard if you are interested in presenting, displaying your product at the poster sessions or Innovation Marketplace, or want to explore partnership opportunities.

Finally, if you are having success using mobiles to improve development outcomes in the areas of climate change, food security, health, governance, biodiversity or fisheries, apply for the Mobiles for Development in Asia Award for a chance to win a $10,000 grant! Applications are due on November 14, 2014.
