eHealth Points to scale across 5 northern Indian states – mHealth Summit 2010 Announcement

By Chloe Feinberg on November 9, 2010

Healthpoint Services is the first scalable integration of telemedicine, clean water, diagnostics and a robust generic pharmacy. The e Health Point integrated solution enables real foundational healthcare and water delivered in a sustainable, profitable manner via a village clinic or “health point” – doctor visits and over 80 diagnostic tests averaging $1 or less.

Al Hammond, a global base of the pyramid expert, and Amit Jain, an Indian clean water pioneer, with the social enterprise incubation services of Ashoka, the global association of leading social entrepreneurs, started Healthpoint Services.

Today, Ashoka and Healthpoint Services are proud to announce their first strategic scaling partner. Proctor & Gamble is partnering with HealthPoint to scale 2,000 e Health Points across the five northern Indian states.

The e Health Points in Punjab, India are already providing modern, evidence-based healthcare to their community. With this partnership, the e Health Point concept will scale proven models to achieve unique synergies and efficiencies and transform rural healthcare and improve wellness, productivity, and quality of life across northern India.
