ISIF Asia is a grants and awards program empowering communities in the Asia pacific region to research, design and implement Internet-based solutions for their own needs, placing particular emphasis on the positive role the Internet has in social and economic development in the region.

Apply now for the 2018 ISIF Asia Grants and Awards to win $210,000 in four areas for projects that support the development of the Internet and highlight its social and economic impact in the Asia Pacific.

Application Deadline: 30 April 2018.

Innovation and Internet development should be an integral part of all award nominations submitted to ISIF Asia and award nominations can be submitted by individuals on behalf of public or private sector organizations, university, or research and development institutions and non-government organizations will be considered. Individuals are not eligible for awards.

The four funding areas are:

Internet Operations Research Grants

For projects supporting the development of an independent Internet research community whose work can improve the availability, reliability and security of the Internet in the Asia Pacific, and widen its coverage, applications and benefit to the community

Applicants can apply for up to $30,000 based on their research needs, a realistic timeframe and a detailed budget.

Cybersecurity Grants

For projects working on practical solutions supporting Internet resiliency and network security in naming, routing, measurement, traffic management, confidential communications, data integrity, Internet of Things, critical infrastructure, and end-user devices.

Applicants can apply for up to $30,000 based on a project proposal that includes a realistic timeframe and a detailed budget.

Internet for Development Grant

This grant supports projects developing affordable, locally owned and managed communication infrastructure, deploying creative low-cost solutions that use wireless technologies, GSM and/or fibre connections.

I4D for Gender Empowerment and Innovation

This grant is for projects/organizations working to achieve gender equality on the Internet, including building advanced digital skills among women and girls, supporting women to get involved in network infrastructure deployment, encouraging the participation of women in digital markets, and promoting the safe use of the Internet for women and girls

Applicants can apply for up to $30,000 based on a project proposal that includes a realistic timeframe and a detailed budget.
