Interest in monitoring and evaluation, particularly in the context of using technology for development, has grown exponentially over the past few years. As more and more programs integrate the use of technology to achieve its objectives, it is only natural that monitoring and evaluation practices would also evolve to include technology.

Similarly, monitoring and evaluating the technology used is also of interest, so that organizations know what works and what doesn’t. Although there is great interest in this topic, there has been little push to harness the interest into sustained involvement, into continued action that can impact the way we practice our work.

The M&E Tech NetHope Working Group, sponsored by the HC3 Project, aims to do just that. We hope to catalyze the conversation and invite practitioners from all sectors to come to the table to share their experiences and lessons learned in M&E and technology. Instead of only conversing within our silos, the working group offers a chance for us to share cross-sectoral solutions and build a set of best practices for monitoring and evaluation that can speak to agriculture as well as health as well as education.

First Meeting: November 18th at FHI 360

Please RSVP now to join on November 19th, us in Washington, DC or virtually, for our first working group event. We’ll be focusing on data – from big data, open data, to geospatial data – with three noted experts who will be leading us in a discussion on how can we discern the massive amounts of data we have access to, and utilize this data effectively.

This and future NetHope Working Group meetings will discuss our toughest challenges, virtually and in-person, and with experts from various sectors, to find new solutions and best practices.

So what are you waiting for? Sign up now to be part of the M&E Tech NetHope Working Group, and RSVP today for the first meeting.
