Please RSVP Now for ICT4D Principle 7: Reuse & Improve Development Solutions

By Wayan Vota on March 16, 2015

Mercy Corps and IDEO.org invite you to RSVP now for ICT4D Principle 7: Reuse and Improve to join your colleagues and peers thinking about the new digital development principles we all should be following.

The Principles Working Group is translating the Greentree Consensus on Digital Development into practical action to amplify the good work of USAID and other donors in advancing the reach of ICTs in international development. USAID Administrator, Dr. Rajiv Shah, emphasized the importance of this work in the USAID Impact blog on Oct 20, 2014:

“We call these principles the Greentree Consensus, and they are built on earlier sets of principles that draw on the insight of more than 300 NGOs with expertise in the field. …We must do more to take these insights into action. Over the next year, we want to hear from the development community about your experiences in bringing technology to tackle development challenges—from promoting media freedom to solving water shortages.”

On March 24th, we’ll be focusing on the opportunities and challenges in using, modifying and extending existing tools, plaforms and frameworks and how we can develop new modular, interoperable technology solutions.

We’ll start with presentations from these thought leaders:

Then we’ll have engaging breakout discussions and interactive activities that focus on real world applications and challenges related to Principle 7. By the time we finish, we’ll have a solid understanding how to reuse and improve development solutions in multiple contexts.

All participants (in-person and online) must RSVP via this Eventbrite form.
