Internet project funding

There are five Regional Internet Registries that manage allocation and registration of Internet number resources within their respective regions of the world. The Registries, in turn, follow their regional policies to delegate resources to their customers, which include Internet service providers and end-user organizations.

  • APNIC serves East Asia, Oceania, South Asia, and Southeast Asia
  • LACNIC serves most of the Caribbean and all of Latin America
  • ARIN serves Antarctica, Canada, parts of the Caribbean, and the United States
  • AFRINIC serves Africa
  • RIPE NCC serves Europe, Central Asia, Russia, and West Asia

Each of these Registries also sponsors cash grants for initiatives that improve the overall Internet industry and Internet user environment in their respective regions. This year, three of the Registries will also support travel to the 2019 Internet Governance Forum in Berlin, Germany.
