The Senior Information Communications Technology (ICT) Specialist will advise and provide technical expertise to the Chief of Party, Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist and broader project team in Gaborone, Botswana.
Key Qualifications
The successful candidate will have substantial expertise in IT domains related to GIS, e-Governance, developing Databases, interoperability protocols, and have demonstrated, proven ability to apply PMP Project Management Principles (PMP) and Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) to ICT programs in Botswana.
Responsibilities
The ICT Specialist will be responsible for planning, coordinating and managing major projects, activities and may lead teams in implementation of specialized IT services. The successful candidate will provide technical advice to senior management on the project IT architecture and framework and on the use of technology to enhance project objectives, review information requirements and proposals and recommend changes based on technical merit. S/he will provide technical guidance, train and advise team members and sub-grantees, contributing to ICT human capacity building on various hardware and software.
S/he will develop IT policies, procedures and standards and systems for data collection and storage. S/he will define project terms of reference, manage the selection and provision of the appropriate technology, collaborate in determining priorities and deliverables, monitor service levels and evaluate against success measures, and make presentations to management.
S/he will be responsible to search out and master information on leading edge technologies in order to maintain expertise in a rapidly changing field; and ensure the security and integrity of data while residing on project computers and networks.
