Dear @AfricaLaunch: Stop Spamming Twitter Accounts
Dear Deb Nason and Tim Anyasi of AfricaLaunch.com:
Recently I received two @Tweets for the AfricaLaunch.com website - from two different Twitter accounts, both asking the exact same thing:
A quick Twitter search reveals that AfricaLaunch.com has at least 6 different Twitter accounts, all sending out the exact same automated Twitter spam to hundreds of Twitters:
" Kindly spread d word about http://africalaunch.com hopefully we can connect African businesses into d global economy"
While you may think this will get you buzz, in fact this will get you social media busted - just like this. Those of us who matter, those that would look beyond a Tweet (or Re-Tweet) and actually read your site, link to it, and be interested in what you say, are going to dismiss you as a splog - a spam blog - if you keep up disreputable tactics like spamming us with @Tweets.
So please, follow proper netiquette - do not spam people via Twitter. Engage with us as a human seeking to reach another, less we see you as 419 instead of 411.
